She was born on May 19, in Accra, Ghana where she had her primary and secondary education respectively.

She made her screen debut in the 90s with the movie “My Sweetie”, a movie she starred alongside Grace Omaboe and MC- Jordan Amatefio.
The movie was very successful and shot her to limelight and made her a household name in the Ghanaian movie industry.

Selassie is also a movie producer. In 2015, she produced her first movie which featured Nadia Buari, James Gardner, Desmond Elliot, Roselyn Ngissah.
In 2017, she produced a television series which was directed by Desmond Elliott dubbed Entrapped and it was shown on African Magic showcase, EbonyLifeTV and TV3 Network in Ghana.
Selassie Ibrahim is the Executive Director of Jabneel Impact, a non-governmental organization that caters for the welfare of the less privileged, orphans and widows in the society.
