Kefee (Irikefe Don-Momoh), popularly known as “Branama Queen” was a Nigerian musician, songwriter, and actress. She was born on February 5, 1980, in Sapele, Delta State, Nigeria and died on June 12, 2014, in Los Angeles, California, United States, at the age of 34.
Early Life
Kefee was born into the family of Andrew Obareki Don-Momoh and Felicia Don-Momoh and was raised in a Christian family. She attended the University of Benin, where she studied Linguistics and got her Bachelor’s degree. She grew up with a strong passion for music and started singing at a very young age.
Career
Kefee’s music career started after she won the “Most Promising Female Artiste” award at the 2004 edition of the KORA Awards. She released her debut album, “Branama” in 2005, which was a massive hit and made her famous across Africa. Kefee’s music style was a mix of gospel, pop, and African rhythms which made her music unique.
In 2006, she released her second album, “Branama 2”, which was also a big success. She collaborated with several Nigerian artists including Timaya, Tuface Idibia, and Kelly Hansome. Kefee also tried her hands in acting and appeared in the popular Nigerian TV series “Extended Family”.

Kefee was a very private person but it was known that she got married to Teddy Esosa Don-Momoh in 2013, a year before her death. She did not have any children.
