Early Life and Career
Sunny Ade started his career in music as a young man, playing guitar for a local church choir. His talent was soon recognized, and he became a member of a highlife band in Lagos in the early 1960s. In 1967 he formed his own band, The Green Spots, which later became known as The African Beats.
He is known for creating a unique sound that blends traditional African music with modern instruments such as the electric guitar. He has released over 100 albums and has won numerous awards for his music, both in Nigeria and internationally.
