Babagana Monguno is a Nigerian military officer who has served in various capacities in the Nigerian Army. He is currently the National Security Adviser to the President of Nigeria, a position he has held since July 2015.
Early Life and Education
Babagana Monguno was born on 14 December 1953 in Monguno, Borno State, Nigeria. He attended the Nigerian Military School, Zaria, and later the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, where he was commissioned into the Nigerian Army in 1977.

He was also the Commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in 2013, a regional military force comprising troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and Cameroon, which was established to combat the Boko Haram insurgency in the Lake Chad Basin region.
