Early Life and Education
Bisi Egbeyemi was born on the 12th of June, 1965, in Ekiti State, Nigeria. He grew up in a family of six and was raised by his parents who were both teachers. Bisi Egbeyemi attended primary and secondary school in Ekiti State before proceeding to the University of Lagos where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He later went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the same university.
Career
Bisi Egbeyemi started his career in politics in the early 90s when he joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State in 1992 and served in that capacity until 1993. In 1999, he was elected as a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly and was later appointed as the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance.
In 2003, Bisi Egbeyemi was re-elected into the Ekiti State House of Assembly and was appointed as the Majority Leader of the House. He served in that capacity until 2007 when he was appointed as the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Ekiti State. He served in that capacity until 2010 when he was appointed as the Secretary to the State Government.
Bisi Egbeyemi has also served as the Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission and the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board. He has made significant contributions to the development of his community and the country at large.
