Da Emperor Biography
Fasasi Mobolaji Gaius is his real name, better known by his stage name as Da Emperor.
He is a famous Nigerian indigenous rapper, actor and songwriter.
Da Emperor was born in Alagbado area of Lagos state but hails from Ogun State, Nigeria. Date and year of his birth not known. He grew up in Lagos state where he had his primary and secondary education respectively.
His Musical Career
Da Emperor began his music journey in 2008, known for his native language, Yoruba, and infuses Pidgin and English.
Da Emperor has recorded songs with artistes like Gabriel Afolayan, Small Doctor and Oritse Femi.
He released his second official single titled “Firewood”, which features vocals from Oritse Femi. This was followed by the singles “Shake it” and “I’m a Sinner”.
In 2013, he collaborated with Canadian-based Jamaican reggae artist Kisco.
Da Emperor has made several appearances with top Nigerian artistes including Davido, Tiwa Savage and many others.
In February 2013, he was featured on the song “Be Ma Boo” by Afro-Pop singer, Slim Joe. The same year 2013, Da Emperor released another hit single “Para Mode” mixed by Indomix. The song which was released in 2014, was very successful with the music video having over 100,000 YouTube views.
The talented Nigerian singer also released a song in support of the former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode’s campaign on February 2, 2014. This was followed by another hit single, “Liar”, a cover of Chris Brown’s “Loyal” featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga.
Da Emperor has so far released a selected singles including the hit song, “Firewood” mixed by indomix, a song released in May 2015 alongside Oritse Femi and the widely accepted “I’m a Sinner” on 12 February 2016.
On 5 March 2016, Da Emperor collaborated with American artist Stylezz and English artist Shyboss.
He also featured alongside Nigerian rapper, Olamide’s “Who U Epp” song. His version topped on the song topped the number 4 chat on Spotify, of Nigerian rapper Olamide ever released songs.
